Foodbanks and community cafés

Below is a list of locations and organisations supporting the people of Fife by providing short term access to emergency food and support for people experiencing a crisis.

    Food Parcels/breakfast club
    Emergency food parcels, referrals to the Glenrothes Food bank, phone top ups and small welfare payments to people with the North Glenrothes area. Family breakfast club Wednesdays and Fridays 8.00am to 8.45am with a view to running this every week day if we have enough interest. There is no cost and the whole family are invited. Only children Primary 5 and up can attend alone.
    Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 3.00pm Saturdays 10.00am to 12.00pm

    Glenrothes foodbank provide 3 day and 7 day food parcels, fuel vouchers, clothes homeware items and café. We work on a referral service

    School Holiday Food
    Leslie Baptist Church are providing lunch bags each Monday of the school holidays with food items for families to make their own lunches. These will be delivered between 11.00am and 12.00pm on Monday mornings. We have emergency food bags from Glenrothes Foodbank which are available on Sundays between 10.00am and 1.00pm. We will also signpost families to other support agencies where appropriate.

Warm Welcome venues/ Community Assistance

Warm Welcome venues will be established in various venues and settings across the area which are designed to offer safe, warm places for people in our communities to spend time, participate in activities and access support.

Community Job Clubs and Welfare support

Local welfare staff are available to offer support on a number of different topics such as:

Community Job Clubs

  • A space where people can get access to a PC to undertake job searches
  • Support to develop and create CVS or supporting statements
  • Support to apply for jobs
  • Information on vocational and non-vocational training opportunities in their local area
  • Information on how to connect with volunteering opportunities

Welfare support

  • Benefit Checking – to ensure you’re receiving everything you’re entitle to
  • Support with completing benefit applications
  • Help with crisis support such as crisis grants, other financial support and access to food
  • Information on other support services and help accessing them
