Foodbanks and community cafés

Below is a list of locations and organisations supporting the people of Fife by providing short term access to emergency food and support for people experiencing a crisis.

  • Café Connect - Levenmouth Foodbank

    Levenmouth Foodbank, Bowling Green Street, Methil, KY8 3DH
    Community Café
    Tuesdays from 10.00am to 12.00pm offering filled rolls, cereal, toast and fruit. Thursdays 12.00pm to 2.00pm offering homemade soup and pudding. Both days have free use of laptops, phones, pool table and newspapers. External agencies available for advice, support and information.
    Opening hours: Tuesdays from 10.00am to 12.00pm Thursdays from 12.00pm to 2.00pm

  • Levenmouth Food Bank

    Methil Evangelical Church, Bowling Green Street, Methil, KY8 3DH
    Food Bank
    We offer 3 days food, 3 meals per day per person on the referral voucher. We also give toiletries, nappies, pet food etc.
    Opening hours: Food parcels are fulfilled by referral only, with appointments offered for pick up on Monday and Friday from 3.30pm.

  • MCCI (Methil Community Children's Initiative)

    130 Sea Road, Methil, Leven KY8 2GW
    Community Café
    Come along and enjoy a plate of homemade soup or stovies and freshly made to order sandwiches. Everyone is welcome to pop in, it's a great opportunity to meet new people. There is no charge for the café, but there is a donation jar if you'd like to contribute. We look forward to seeing you.
    Opening hours: Mondays to Fridays during school term time between 12.00pm and 2.00pm.

  • Open Door Kennoway

    St Kenneths Church, Church Hall, Cupar Road, Kennoway
    Community Café/food parcels
    A listening ear and support to access other agencies, free meal and food parcel. No form filling or assessment needed, everyone is welcome although under 16-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult.

    We are open 5.30pm to 6.00pm every Wednesday and everyone is welcome . No assessment or form filling. Under 16 ‘s must be accompanied by a parent.

    Buckhaven Baptist Church, College Street, Buckhaven
    Community Café
    Safe Haven Cafe offers tea, coffee, cereals and a choice of filled rolls from 10.00am to 12.00pm every Friday, with a home-made lunch served from 12.00pm to 1.00pm. Soup Session every Wednesday from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Everyone is welcome

Cafe Inc

Cafe Inc is a free lunch club for children, and young people. It provides tasty, healthy meals for our young people, while our schools are closed during the holidays. No need to book, just turn up. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult, who can also have a meal.

Please note Café Inc will not be available on Thursday 4 July due to UK election, as well as Monday 15 July due to public holiday.

Community Job Clubs

Community job clubs provide a space where people can get access to a PC to undertake job searches, create and develop CVs and apply for jobs. Our staff will be able to offer advice on most aspects of searching and applying for work.

Buckhaven Advice Drop In

We run the Buckhaven Advice Drop-In with CARF's community-based advisors every Monday between 2-4pm at Buckhaven Community Centre, Kinnear Street, Buckhaven. Come along for help with Universal Credit, debt support and finding out about local support. We can also assist with job search, CV's and applications, benefit checks and completing claims. No appointment needed so just pop along. For more information, please contact 01592 583472.

Connect Fife – Digital Skills Drop In

Connect Fife run a free Digital Skills Drop-In on Wednesdays at Methil Library (Wellesley Road, Leven KY8 3PA) between 1.30-4pm. Pop along to speak to their friendly staff for advice and support in using a tablet, phone, laptop, or PC. Whether you want to brush up your skills, save money by finding the best deals, use Microsoft office or learn how to keep safe while online, we are here to help!
