In Fife, the Council is investing over £220,000 in a warm winter programme run jointly with community groups and partners. Making warm places available locally, with activities provided by local groups is the key. Our winter programme will include a wide variety of community-led events in town and village halls, sports centres, libraries, museums, theatres and churches - many with hot food and drinks on offer too - in addition to our regular Café Inc family food service that will run through the school holidays.

If you need help getting to any of the Warm Welcome locations, you can find more information about support with transport costs

Leisure centres

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust are delivering Active Warm Sessions. These provide a friendly social space where people can take part in activities, to improve physical and mental health. This could include taking part in some light physical activities or simply enjoying some company and a cup of tea and a biscuit.

OnFife have dedicated nine libraries across Fife as “warm spaces” in partnership with Fife Council. You’re welcome to read, surf, and have a blether as well as enjoy board games, or just relax and enjoy a free cuppa

Local locations

Fife Voluntary Action will also run a grant scheme, to provide grants of up to £5k for community groups to provide warm places in their communities. There will also be some activities available, and warm drinks/snacks for those taking part.

Community Use venues

Some Community Use venues will be open for the community to access tea and coffee and a wide variety of board games whilst community activity takes place.
