The world is facing a climate and nature crisis that is affecting people, places, and wildlife here in Fife and across the globe. We can take action in Fife to tackle this crisis.
In 2019, Fife Council declared a Climate Emergency and committed to taking actions to reduce emissions, protect nature, and build a more sustainable and resilient future for Fifers. By us all working together, we can help protect our environment, support our communities, and create a healthier and greener Fife for future generations.
Nature includes all living things, such as plants, animals, insects, and fungi, along with the places they live. Looking after nature creates healthier places to live by supporting clean air, fresh water, food and places for people and wildlife to thrive.
Sustainability means meeting our needs now without making it harder for future generations to meet their own needs. This means making choices that protect our Fife economy, communities and the environment, both now and in the future. In Fife we call this being Climate Just. This means thinking of Fife and Fifers, while protecting our future jobs, and the places we live.
