Our Big Resilience Move is about how Fife can prepare for, respond to and recover from the unavoidable impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss.
Every two years, we carry out a climate risk and vulnerability assessment. This helps us identify and prioritise climate-related risks across Fife. We are using the findings to inform and shape a Fife Climate Resilience Delivery Programme, to help drive forward work on this. This programme will set out a five-year action plan to address the highest priority risks.
Our coastline is changing due to coastal erosion and flooding. We are addressing both these issues through our coastal change adaptation projects. These projects use nature-based solutions, advanced monitoring, and involve local communities. This way, we can better understand how our coast is evolving and be better prepared for the future.
As part of Fife’s emergency resilience preparations, the Fife Community Resilience Forum gives Fifers the tools and knowledge to prepare for and respond to emergencies. This community-led group works closely with partners like Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, making local responses to all emergencies even stronger.
