The Local Biodiversity Action Plan sets out Fife’s priorities for nature conservation.
Supported by The Fife Biodiversity Partnership, a group of individuals and organisations from across Fife with expertise in the natural environment. In 2026, the partnership adopted a 20 year plan in line with the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy to 2045.
The plan sets clear goals for biodiversity and measures to track progress towards them. It guides the protection of vital habitats and species while supporting the restoration and enhancement of Fife’s landscapes.
By encouraging local involvement in conservation and raising awareness of nature’s value, the plan aims to improve quality of life across Fife - now and into the future.
Use the Ecosystem Map to explore habitats in Fife. Zoom in to locations that matter to you and see how they interact with the LBAP.
