Our big energy move is an ambitious plan to transform how we produce, use and manage energy across the region. We want to shift towards a low-carbon, affordable and resilient energy system that works for everyone.
The Big Energy Move will aim to transform Fife’s energy system to one where we have energy when we need it and in ways which benefit the people of Fife.
Our big energy move aims to:
By creating more local energy solutions, our big energy move will generate new jobs, boost skills and support community wealth and health.
Work in the Big Energy Move has been centred around the delivery of Fife’s first Local Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategy.
This sets out how we will make buildings in Fife more energy efficiency and switch to green heating. Early work has been on the council’s two existing district heat networks and a delivery vehicle which can lead on expanding this work in Fife.
We are also looking at other opportunities where district heating might be suitable.
