We aim to upgrade our children's area with new furniture to encourage families to stay and enjoy reading together, with new books and soft toys. Having a comfortable space for feeding (and changing) your baby while enjoying books is essential in encouraging young families to stay and use our library.

I believe these Beehives will benefit the whole area in terms of pollination. The Beehives require no maintenance once in place. The bees will hunt for pollen far and wide benefitting plants, insects, wild life and,of course, humans.

Big Green Market Repair Cafe

Following a successful pilot, BGM wants to create a team of experienced Fixers to help people learn how to repair their own items, saving money, sharing skills and reducing landfill. A new website will also give people access to advice if they can’t come to the Repair Cafes.

The 2024 Burntisland LPP and the 2023 CAP identified reinstatement of the Clock Tower as a top priority for the community. The £15k will allow us to engage heritage experts to assess the condition of the stone in storage, refresh the spire documentation and costings and apply for reinstatement funding.

Already have organising group but this is to include all volunteers in decision making. We would enhance our community garden by installing an inclusive accessible path throughout the garden, level out uneven areas and trip hazards, add raised beds and plants and add canopies to create sheltered areas. This would enable individuals of all abilities to have access to the space and be included.

We want to provide proper clothing and safety equipment. To update the community playpark which is open to all along with local nurseries children. The slide needs to be replaced and requires a cover due to the sun making it too hot to use. All the wooden equipment after 12 years is rotten and will need removed for safety.

We will remove accessibility barriers by adding a public entrance and toilet facilities making this a more inclusive green space that can be used by Kirkcaldy residents, visitors and those seeking a peaceful green retreat.

Cars/vans are using grass area between Invertiel Road and Seaforth view as a short cut,which is dangerous for pedestrian and other road users. It could have been resolved for very little cost however, FC housing department declined the offer on aesthetic reasons, not H+S. This has been on-going for 8 years.
The Peoples Sauna

My project is a donation-based, pay-as-you-can pop-up tent sauna that will be situated at Pathhead sands beach in Kirkcaldy. Saunas are often cost-prohibitive; this initiative provides affordable access to people who want to enhance their health and connect with others in the community in nature. The project aims to promote well-being and connection within the local community, offering stress relief and social engagement.
The Whale Park

Develop an underused piece of community land overlooking the sea, create an education and art celebration of ‘The Return of the Whales’ to The Firth of Forth, including murals, mosaics, seating, poetry and information. It will bring visitors to the area and support the local economy.
