The information on this page relates to the whole of the Cowdenbeath Area Committee area (Ward 7 and Ward 8) and includes the communities of :- Auchterderran, Ballingry, Bowhill, Cardenden, Cowdenbeath, Crossgates, Crosshill, Cluny, Dundonald, Glencraig, Hill of Beath, Lochgelly, Lochore, Lumphinans and Kelty.

Our Vision

Our Ambition is to make a positive and lasting difference to the Cowdenbeath Area - an area where all citizens work together to achieve their aims; innovation and entrepreneurship is encouraged; people live in fuel-efficient, affordable housing; public transport is accessible and affordable; High Streets thrive; and people receive the care that they need when they need it.

With this overall vision in mind, our Plan 4 Cowdenbeath Area sets out what we’re going to do over the next 3 years to achieve this and how we’re going to do it.

Please Note that the Plan for Cowdenbeath Area was developed prior to COVID 19 – this will be reviewed over the coming months and updated with any new priorities. In order to assist with this review the area team commissioned some research to find out about the communities experience of living in the Cowdenbeath Area during COVID-19. The findings of this research Post-COVID 19 Potential to be Better will be used to update the plan.

Community Led Action Plans

Across our local communities, people have come together to identify what’s important, and agree on local priorities. The Coalfields Regeneration Trust have worked with communities to develop and implement local plans through their coalfields-community-futures programme.
