The Rural Voice Panel is a group of people who live in North East Fife and have lived experience of rural poverty. They share their knowledge and experience to help shape local policies, services and support.
The panel includes members from all five wards in NE Fife, with a good mix of ages and backgrounds. There are now 8 panel members, and new members are welcome.
We are currently developing the new Rural Poverty Plan, which will begin in April.
It will be shaped by:
If you live in North East Fife and have lived experience of rural poverty or the extra costs of rural living, we’d like to hear from you.

Earlier this year, the Rural Voice Panel took the Rural Art Exhibition on the road across North East Fife, sharing creative work that highlights the real impact of the Rural Premium. The exhibition was created with local partners including Crail Community Larder and NEF Youth Voice, bringing together powerful stories and artwork from people with lived experience of rural poverty.
Watch our highlights video to see some of the artwork, hear from those involved, and get a sense of the conversations sparked in communities along the way.
You can also listen to a specially written poem by Rural Voice Panel member and Crail Community Larder volunteer, Caoimhe McMahon. Her words capture the realities of rural life and the strength of community voices.
