The Build Fife programme, led by Fife Council’s Economic Development and Procurement Teams, is helping local construction and associated businesses grow, compete, and thrive. Delivered in partnership with Hub East Central Scotland and several major contractors, the programme supports Fife’s ambitions for community wealth building and economic recovery by equipping businesses with the tools and connections they need to succeed.

Participants attend weekly half-day sessions covering key topics such as leadership, business strategy, marketing, procurement, and contract negotiation. In 2025, 14 businesses took part. Outcomes include:
The programme has helped businesses build confidence, sharpen their focus, and take practical steps toward growth.
Build Fife also supports Fife’s ambition to accelerate economic activity and employment, particularly, by strengthening the local supply chain and creating new opportunities for SMEs.
Looking ahead, the programme will return in 2026, with plans to adapt the model for other key sectors. A Build Fife Food and Drink programme is already in development for later in 2025, with potential to expand further based on demand and success.
