We would really like to get these courses filled up so your help and support is much appreciated. Poverty and Inequality Commission Report

Report of workshops with priority families in Scotland and their ideas to reduce child poverty - Poverty & Inequality Commission

The Commission worked with eight organisations to organise workshop discussions to gather parent and carer participant views on:

  • What policies to reduce child poverty they were aware of
  • How well they felt policies were working
  • What else they felt was needed to reduce child poverty

This report summarises the views of participants on the three topics above, expanding on the material the Commission published earlier in 2024 as part of its 2023-24 child poverty scrutiny


Social Security Scotland annual performance report 

Page 19 of this report shows the number of individuals paid across the Scottish Social Security benefits. All have increased in the last 12 months.

We are waiting for the take up rates across the various benefits to be  released and will share that in this update when it comes through

Marie Curie publish Dying in Poverty 2024 report 

Report highlighting the challenges of poverty and ill health.

Recent work of the Tackling Poverty and Preventing Crisis Board, looked at the impact of various benefit maximisation initiatives  including the CARF work supporting people with cancer. Over the last 12 months there was an average financial gain for individuals seen through this initiative of of £1 853 – total gain for all those supported was over £654 0000.
